I didn't pay a lot of attention to the passage of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act back in August. Neither did anybody else in the book world, until just recently, when it was discovered that the regulations against lead and the expensive required testing also applied to books. Books in secondhand shops and thrift stores, books in your garage sale, and most enormously, books in libraries.
