Can We Put This on a Billboard, Please?

Finally, a study that shows what I've been feeling in my gut for a long time:
"Infant TV viewing is associated with delayed language, with shortened attention spans and with delayed cognitive development," says Dimitri Christakis, a pediatrician and professor at the University of Washington. "The scientific evidence of benefit is just not there and the best available evidence suggests harm."
Nothing's definite, of course--the article uses study-ish words like "correlation," and only one prior study showed the same results. But hopefully this will make some parents think twice before giving the Baby Einstein company another gob of their hard-earned dough.

Thanks to Jen Robinson for the link.
